Priest in Charge - Cheriton with Newington Benefice

With two churches on the urban edge of Folkestone and one in the nearby countryside, our benefice has a wide range of ministry contexts, from urban, through new developments to rural, each of which has its own challenges and joys. You can read an introduction to the benefice here and the profile is available here

We are looking for a Priest in Charge who will:

•    Lead worship

•    Be a pastor in the community and enable our pastoral care groups

•    Take a full role as part of our team

•    Lead us in developing our vision:

  • working even more closely together
  • moving forward in our schools and young people's work
  • developing our lay ministry
  • working with current and new partners

You'll be:
•    Someone with vision and able to communicate clearly and sensitively.
•    A team builder, you'll also work collaboratively and enable the gifts in others to be developed.
•    Grounded and realistic - although wanting to develop, we're also typical CofE, with older congregations. Our hopes for the future won't be a quick fix!
•    A priest who is confident in their faith and its expression, and able to work comfortably with the tradition in the benefice and wider Group Ministry.
