The Diocese in Europe, Diocese of Canterbury and USPG seek to appoint a Refugee Projects Officer for Northern France. If you are looking to work in a highly dynamic context at the forefront of social justice, then we would welcome an application from you. The postholder will foster and embed existing partnerships and facilitate new ones, engaging a diverse range of partners: local churches, local and central government, community groups and organisations, local agencies, and charities. In collaboration with local agencies, be responsive to emerging initiatives that benefit exiled persons in Northern France. The postholder will:
- work collaboratively with existing ecumenical partnerships and with other key agencies working with exiled persons
- liaise with the Refugee Advocacy Group regarding possible advocacy initiatives and meet with the project partners twice a year
- have a strong understanding of local context
- work collaboratively with the Kent Refugee Projects Officer (Diocese of Canterbury) and plan and deliver projects, activities and events
- be fluent in both spoken French and English
- need to have the relevant authorisation to live and work in France
The post is suitable for a lay or ordained person and is field-based in the Pas-de-Calais region. Three years of funding are already in place with the expectation that this will be extended.
