As a Church of England Diocese, we handle a lot of data for a variety of different purposes. If you share your data with us, we will seek to do everything we can to protect your data and respect your rights as a data subject under the 2018 General Data Protection Regulations.

Online Directory

Our online directory, the Contact Management System, is accesible via the Church of England Portal. It contains the names and contact details of clergy, readers and church officers who have given us permission (via a data protection form) to publish their details. The directory is accessed via a user name and password and is only available to clergy, readers and church officers who have a current post within a church, benefice or deanery within the Diocese, along with diocesan staff. If your personal data is contained within our directory, you have the ability to select who can see your data. Only data that is set by users as publilcly accesible will be available through our 'Find a Person' webpage. 

Your data and our website

Some personal data is collected through this website when you voluntarily choose to provide it to us: 

Booking forms – The information collected via our event booking forms allows us to book you into events/courses and reply to you/answer any questions you may have.

Payment forms – Payments are taken via a PayPoint on a secure server. Your card details are secure and your contact details are not shared with any third party.

Use of cookies

Cookies are small text files that are placed on your computer by websites that you visit. Cookies are not currently in use on this website. This may change in the future as we plan to  use analytics tools to find out more about how visitors use our site - when that happens we'll update this page and you'll automatically be asked to set your cookie preferances when you visit the site. 

YouTube & Vimeo – If you play an embedded video on our site, there may a cookie set by YouTube or Vimeo containing anonymous, non personally-identifiable information about the number of playbacks of embedded videos.
