Farewell to Stephen Taylor

Date and Time :
28th February 2024 - 5:30pm

On 28 February there will be an opportunity to say farewell to outgoing Diocesan Secretary Stephen Taylor at a special Evensong in Canterbury Cathedral.

Last August, it was announced that Stephen would be retiring from his current role but remain in post until a successor had been found. Last month, it was announced that Iain Blythe will take up the role as new Diocesan Secretary on 2 April.

Stephen has spent over twelve years in the diocese, the first eight of them as Archdeacon of Maidstone, before moving into his present role leading the diocesan administration function.

In this time, he has steered the diocese through some challenging periods, and I am personally grateful for his prayers, selflessness, guidance, patience, care, and attention to detail.

The Evensong at 5:30pm will be an occasion for us all to express our gratitude for his service and commitment to our diocese and seeing lives changed, as well as to give thanks to God for Stephen’s ministry amongst us.

All are welcome to join us in person or online.
