New Commissary General appointed

We are pleased to announce that Robin Hopkins has been appointed to the role of Commissary General of the Diocese of Canterbury, with effect from 7 September, 2020.

Robin is a barrister specialising in data protection, privacy and freedom of information. He grew up in South Africa and moved to the UK to go to university in 2001. He lives in London, where he and his family attend St John of Jerusalem Church in Hackney. Robin has been the Deputy Chancellor of the Diocese of Chichester since 2016. His wife, Hannah, works for a conservation architecture practice and was previously a listing inspector at English Heritage. They enjoy books and architecture, as well as walking, swimming and cycling – including in Kent.
