Pupils from Goodnestone and Nonington Church of England Primaries are taking part in activities all around Canterbury Cathedral this morning.
Not only will they be exploring the history of the beautiful building, they are also getting involved in a prayer pilgrimage which will be followed by a special act of worship in the crypt.
The day of prayer and pilgrimage is open to everyone and it is expected that thousands of people will be getting involved. Even those who are unable to travel will be joining in, including some people in a prison in Guernsey.

Our schools have been joining in all week, with activities and adventures at Hartlip Endowed Church Of England Primary School, Sittingbourne, Holy Trinity and St John’s Primary school in Margate and St John’s Parish Church, Jersey.
Some 200 pupils at Egerton Church of England Primary School and St James's Church are taking part in a local pilgrimage led by Reverend Jack Bateson and his wife. At Saltwood Church of England Primary School, more than 200 children plus staff and parents are walking to various sites around the grounds where they will be taking part in activities exploring the diversity of life in our environment.
This morning, High Downs Parish held a Walking Prayer Pilgrimage around the 3 Churches, starting at Eastling. This afternoon St Mary Magdalene with St Lawrence will be welcoming Archdeacon Stephen at 2.45pm. The church will be open on Saturday 8 June for the hour of Focused Prayer 4.30 pm -5.30 pm and prayer stations and other materials will be available.
An early start tomorrow for Thanet Deanery as they are Walking the Augustine Camino - praying in the footsteps of those who prayed there first over many centuries. Departing St Augustine Cross, Cottington Road, Cliffsend, CT12 5JB at 7.15am and Minster Abbey at 8.30am. Hoping to join them tomorrow is St Saviours, Westgate on Sea.
Whitstable Parish are gathering at All Saints tomorrow morning at 11.45am to walk along the Crab and Winkle Way to the Cathedral to join with others for prayer and worship.
Stour Downs Parish will host a pilgrimage around their churches: each of the six churches in the parish have a pilgrimage route set up inside with spaces to pause and pray. At 4:30pm there will be an hour of prayer at Smeeth Church, marking the end of the nine days of prayer that has been in a different location in each of the parish churches each day.
At 4.30pm tomorrow, St Cosmus and St Damian in the Blean is holding Evening Prayer and Novena reflection in church.
Kingsdown and Creekside is holding two days of a walking prayer pilgrimage around the seven parish churches and two redundant churches in the Parish of Kingsdown & Creekside on Saturday 8 June.
Starting tomorrow at 9.30am Lynsted-Kingsdown, 12 noon Wychling, 1.15pm Doddington, 2.40pm Newnham, 4pm Norton and returning to Lynsted for the 4.40-5.30pm hour of prayer joining everyone across the diocese.
On Sunday at 9am at Norton there will be a whole parish service before walking begins again across the day to arrive at Lynsted once more for the Breakthrough Service for Pentecost.
