Welcome to Canterbury Diocese
Canterbury Diocese is the oldest diocese in England, stretching from Maidstone to Thanet, the Isle of Sheppey to the Romney Marsh. We have 350 miles of coastline with historic ports and seaside resorts, alongside rural communities, market towns and commuter-belt urban developments. Affluent areas often sit alongside pockets of major deprivation, offering an exciting and challenging mission context.
At the heart of all we do is a vision of transformation for ourselves and our communities: no one can encounter God and remain unchanged. In the Diocese of Canterbury, we want to increasingly become a Christian community transformed through encounter with Christ, growing and overflowing to transform and bless the families, homes and communities we serve: Changed Lives, Changing Lives.

We give thanks for the members of the United Wye Benefice ministry team, lay and ordained, and pray they are strengthened and inspired by God’s presence to face the challenges of ministry.
Please pray for the family services within the benefice. That those already established continue to flourish, and for the Stone Street Group of Churches where fresh initiatives are being considered or revitalised in partnership with the schools.
Our church buildings remain open thanks to the time and effort of Churchwardens, Treasurers and volunteers - we thank God for the variety of gifts and talents that make it possible. Please pray that their generosity of spirit will inspire others to consider how they also can help.
The community breakfast in Stelling village hall is going from strength to strength. Led by a small but dedicated church team it provides great community engagement while also raising much needed funds.
