Do you feel drawn to be part of our welcoming, caring, and inclusive church family?

We are looking for a new Musical Director to help lead and accompany us through this exciting time of flourishing and growth for the parish. We are looking to appoint someone who is passionate about celebrating our choral traditions while embracing contemporary music, bringing the two together to renew our worshipping life. We hope the successful applicant would also be someone who can inspire and nurture our young choirs, enabling them to grow in their gifts, confidence, faith, and together as a community; as well as engaging leading our adult choirs. Our desire is to be a growing church family whose prayer and praise celebrates the rich diversity of musical gifts and styles from across the Anglican Communion, and one in which we work together to see the flourishing of all. We hope our Musical Director will:

  • Lead and build up our choirs, particularly our youth choirs, nurturing their gifts and expanding their musical repertoires
  • Renew our worshipping life by introducing new music, new settings, and encouraging the congregation in their singing
  • Collaborate with the Vicar and Band Worship Leader to develop new services, and work as part of team to support and encourage each other
  • Maintain and encourage children and young people to become choral and organ scholars, working with our church school, Hythe Bay CofE Primary School to do so

We offer:

  • Three talented choirs: Boys & Men, Girls, Mixed Adult
  • Two organs (one three-stop chamber organ), two grand pianos (one Steinway Model B and one Bechstein gran), and a moveable electric piano
  • £8,500 PA with additional fees from weddings, funerals, etc.
  • A welcoming, caring, and inclusive community
